Summer Scholars Program
This summer twelve Chicago high school students spent 6-weeks with us learning about real-life applications of engineering, entrepreneurship and technology. They met with over 36 mentors in STEM to hear about their educational and career paths. In the end, they pitched an entrepreneurial idea to solve a problem in their everyday life! Students left with a greater understanding of STEM career opportunities and an increased confidence in STEM concepts!

2021 STEMINIST Scholarship Awardees
This year we awarded $46,000 in scholarships to 17 women in support of their post-secondary degrees in engineering or computer science. The scholars also receive mentorship and access to career development workshops to set them up for success.

We Welcomed New Board Members
Calculated Genius is thrilled to have welcomed seven new board members this year! The new board members bring unique perspectives to help advance our mission and increase community awareness of our organization. They began their three-year terms with Calculated Genius effective August 1, 2021.

Interactive Workshops
{High School}
This year in partnership with the Flying Classroom we brought two additional workshops to Chicago high school students: Aquaponics and Uber Air!
We also hosted four career chat sessions in which students learned about various STEM professions!
